The partnership
Who we are
We're YOUR Personal Training (YPT) — the UK's largest and most successful personal training management company, operating since 2008. We recruit, place, manage and support the personal trainers working on your gym floor. We're your licensed personal training provider at this facility.
Your licensed provider
All personal training at this facility is delivered by YPT-licensed trainers.
On your floor
Our trainers work the gym floor and are here to help your members.
Here for retention
Members with a trainer get results, stay longer and recommend the club.
Getting started
The PT launch process
Here's what happens as trainers join the facility, so you know what to expect.
- Trainers launch on the 1st or 15th of each month.
- Each trainer completes a site induction with the leisure manager (or a relevant member of the management team).
- The trainer is briefed on your NOP and EAP in centre.
- The trainer is introduced to all staff members.
- The trainer's notice board or TV profile is set up in the club.
On the floor
What our trainers do
Our trainers are part of the day-to-day life of the gym. The complimentary session is how they get members started — it's the introduction to paid personal training, not a free service.
- Working the floor and introducing themselves to members throughout the day.
- Offering a complimentary personal training session, subject to trainer availability, to help members get started — the main USP to promote.
- Supporting members towards their goals across exercise, nutrition and lifestyle.
- Arranging their own bookings and pricing directly with members.
Working together
Your team's part
A few simple things from each part of the team make the partnership work.
Reception
- Send member enquiries to a YPT trainer on site.
- Point them to a trainer's in-club profile.
- Direct them to our trainers page.
Sales & membership
- Trainers can provide marketing collateral for new members.
- A 60-minute complimentary session is available for all members, subject to trainer availability.
- Complimentary sessions are booked via the trainers page.
Fitness staff
- Promote a complimentary session at the end of each induction, subject to trainer availability.
- Introduce the member to a trainer on site.
- Refer non-operational trainer queries back to YPT.
Quick reference
If a member asks you…
How do I book a session?
Point them to any YPT trainer on the floor. Trainers arrange their own sessions directly.
How much does it cost?
You don't need to quote prices. Let them know there's a complimentary session available, subject to trainer availability, and a trainer will talk them through the options.
Who are these trainers?
They're YPT-licensed trainers in YOUR Personal Training branded kit. We're the club's personal training partner.
Can I use a different personal trainer?
Personal training here is delivered by YPT trainers only. If you're ever unsure, check with your fitness manager.

Good to know
Policies staff should know
A short summary of the points most relevant to your team, whatever their role.
Exclusivity
YPT is the sole personal training provider on site. All personal training is delivered by YPT-licensed trainers.
Advertising & branding
Personal training advertising in the facility is YPT-branded only. No other personal training advertising should be on display.
Uniform
Trainers wear YPT branded kit on the floor. If a trainer isn't in correct kit, follow the steps under Reporting.
Training under-18s
A trainer's licence permits adults (over-18s) only. Sessions for under-18s are a serious breach — flag them straight away.
Studio & hall use
Trainers may use space ad-hoc only when it isn't booked, and check with reception first. Booked activities take precedence.
Multi-site trainers
Trainers working across several sites complete a site induction at each centre before they start on your floor.
This is a summary of the points most relevant to your team. If anything isn't covered here, speak to your Regional PT Manager or contact the team below.
